This filter is used on Mercruiser 6 and 8 cylinder GM engines up to 2002. It is located down low on the right side of the engine next to or just above the raw water pump. Carry a spare, remember, ethanol breaks down to water by 10% in just 21 days. Use filter number 18-7844 if your fuel pump is actually mounted ontop of the water pump as part of the water pump.
