This spin on filter with a is used on Mercruiser 6 and 8 cylinder GM engines up to 2002. It is located down low on the right side of the engine next to or just above the raw water pump. Carry a spare, remember, ethanol breaks down to water by 10% in just 21 days. Use filter number 18-7844 if your fuel pump is actually mounted ontop of the water pump as part of the water pump. Most remote mounted spin on fuel filters use this element. Replaces Mercury 35-802893Q & Yamaha ABA-fuelf-il-tr. Replaces mercruiser # 802893Q01.
